The Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre, in a cooperation with INSMET, is actively engaged in calculating climate models and projections for the Caribbean using the PRECIS software provided by the Hadley Centre, UK.
We provide regional and country-oriented results from modeling and projection experiments online:
- for every country in the region interactive maps of projections calculated on the basis of the ECHAM4 (1991-2100) for the emission scenarios A2 and B2 at a resolution of 50x50km are available through our clearinghouse tool.
- for every country in the region interactive maps of projections calculated on the basis of the HadAM3P (2010-2100, with 2010-2069 pattern scaled) for the emission scenarios B1 and A2 at a resolution of 50x50km are available through our clearinghouse tool (Method)
- ascii readable output data (CSV format precis data files) of experiments based on the HadAM3P and ECHAM4 global models and the emission scenarios A2 and B2 at a resolution of 50x50km for every grid point by country and the parameters temperature (min, max, mean), precipitation, humidity, cloud cover are available as well (Output data, Explanation Notes)
Currently our computers calculate new projections with the ECHAM5 global model and various versions of HADAM3 with different variations in parameter physics.
Maps for different other scenarios and parameters are available, e.g. through the INSMET website, through the CRP CMIP3 Multi-Model Database, CI:Grasp, the World Bank Knowledge Portal and the IPCC Data Distribution Centre.
